Road Trip Home From Chicago

After we packed up our car in Buffalo Grove, we left for home. I had been planning our trip for about two months before it actually took place. We drove up through Wisconsin so that we could drive through La Crosse where Derek served part of his mission. He showed me different things that he remembered about it and we actually stopped by the apartment that he lived in when he was there. That was a lot of fun! It is a beautiful town! We then drove across Minnesota and through South Dakota till we arrived in Rapid City. We stayed in a hotel and the next day we went to Mt. Rushmore! That was so COOL. The Dakotas are pretty boring for the most part, but once we got there, my opinion changed. The area around Mt. Rushmore is gorgeous! We were there on a random day of the week and we weren't there during tourist season so there weren't many people there. It was totally worth it. The trip home was long but we love road trips so we had a blast. Once we got close to Idaho we drove right along the Grand Tetons which was majestic as you can see. We then stopped by a gas station that sells square ice cream and then we were home! We had so much fun.
